BTA helps families notice how a child learns, engages, persists, creates and responds to challenge, then combines that evidence with guided activities and specialist review.
The family pathway is designed for children aged 4 to 12 in Sheffield and selected UK locations during the founding pilot. It begins with developmental context and structured parent observation, followed by age-sensitive guided activities and review.
Parents are not asked to diagnose, rank or label their child. They record what they genuinely observe, including when a behaviour has not had a fair opportunity to appear. Optional images, audio or video are controlled by explicit media consent.
Specialist review combines evidence from different moments and contexts. Families receive an evolving Talent & Learning Profile, confidence notes, areas to observe further and practical 30-, 60- and 90-day guidance rather than a one-off verdict.
Privacy, safeguarding, withdrawal and deletion routes are presented before participation so families can make an informed choice.
